Michael Lucas is the most famous, and wealthiest, gay adult film star, producer, and director in the world. And as Jenna Jamison sags and falls apart, Mr. Lucas gives cred to that myth that gay men seem to age far slower—and with way more élan. Perhaps it's all the women he's tagged. "Glamour is expensive," he told me once in a Genre magazine interview, "which is why I do nothing for free." Sitting with Lucas this afternoon in New York's bustling restaurant Pastis near his home, one imagines Mick Jagger's famous statement about Satan as "a man of wealth and taste." Indeed, Lucas is handsome, fit, calm, and focused while he sips tea gracefully from a thin porcelain cup, discussing his history, his future—and his legacy of skin.
Ladies and Gentlemen—Mr. Michael Lucas.
Neal Boulton: Jeff Striker achieved fame in his day, but I recently watched him in movies where he was doing women. Have you ever filmed that?
Michael Lucas: I haven't filmed guy on girl sex. Even though I've done my share of women, I don't consider myself bisexual.
NB: Did you like doing a chick?
ML: I like to pleasure my partner, so whenever I am having sex with a woman, I am considerate of pleasuring them. They never left bed unhappy. No one does, actually.
NB: Men always want to tap their wives asses—why is the ass such a delicacy?
ML: For me it is. And for more, it should be.
NB: You are a family man, monogamous with the same partner for over seven years now. How does your work impact your sex life at home?
ML: It doesn't. My partner understands very well: It's a job.
NB: You are a celebrity film star, front row in Milan, Paris and New York, you hang out with Marc Jacobs—but you walk your dogs through your New York neighborhood in sweat pants holding a deli coffee. Describe how you handle your fame.
ML: I'm very down to earth, just like Marc Jacobs, and many other celebrities I know. I'm not going to dress up in designer clothes to walk my dog—and clean her shit.
NB: You recently lost your mother, who we know meant so much to you, and who we know was very proud of you.
ML: Yes, so far it's undoubtedly the biggest tragedy of my life, one I still haven't recovered from.
NB: Do you tire of sex? Of cocks and asses and men and cum and all of it? Do you still enjoy it?
ML: Of course I still enjoy it. It's not like I film everyday. I have sex in front of the camera maybe once a month. That can hardly make you tired of sex.
NB: What is your favorite position?
ML: I like when the guy is on his back so I can see his face. I'll let your readers imagine the rest.
NB: What advice do you offer those who want to be the best in bed?
ML: Pay attention to your partner. Don't be selfish. Give—more than you receive. It will pay off in the end.
NB: Hey, there's still a role for me, even when I am 60, in one of your movies, right? I promise to be hot...
ML: There is a demand for every kind of man, whether you're 18 or 60. Everyone can get laid, and that's a wonderful thing, especially for you Neal.
